Franklin Mikel sentenced to prison

Mikel was given a 10-year prison sentence today by a Clark County judge. Mikel reached a plea agreement in January. He is charged with three counts of dealing a controlled substance. He will likely serve four years in prison because of good behavior credit. Mikel was selling drugs at the Greentree Skateland in Clarksville in April of last year. He was a Clarksville Police Officer at the time.

Georgetown man faces federal child porn charges
32-year-old James Dotts Junior faces three counts of receiving and one count of possession of child pornography. Dotts was discovered as part of Operation Emissary. The website contained images and video of hardcore pornography and warned users that the material was illegal. Investigators targeted individuals like Dotts who subscribed to the website. If convicted, Dotts faces a maximum prison sentence of 30 years, and a fine of 250,000 dollars.

Future of Big Four Bridge up in the air

Yesterday's fire on the Big Four Bridge caused some concern across the area. Some questioned whether the fire would affect the Ohio River Greenway Project. Jeff Mayor, Tom Galligan, says it will not. Louisville Fire and Rescue put out the fire, using a boat equipped with a water cannon. Fire officials believe it was an electrical fire. The Ohio Greenway Project will turn the Big Four Bridge into a continuous seven mile corridor linking New Albany, Clarksville, and Jeff.
